Goals of Just Neighbors

Just Neighbors has three overall goals:

to educate your group about poverty in the United States
to inspire participants to greater service to people in poverty
to motivate them to work as advocates for their neighbors in need

Just Neighbors leads your congregation, school, or other organization to examine in depth the pervasive issues at the root of poverty. More importantly, though, Just Neighbors will inspire your group to do something about them.

Each session ends with ideas for putting knowledge into action.

When the Just Neighbors program is completed, you can expect to see changes among the participants. Some will put what they've learned into action. Some will increase their commitment to your outreach or social action programs. Some will initiate new service opportunities, looking for new ways to help. Some will become advocates for changes in public policy.
